📽️ Microsoft PowerPoint

The PowerPoint layer displays a Microsoft PowerPoint presentation directly on your digital signage screen. You provide the Office file (the link to your presentation) and the layer renders its slides on screen, with control over timing, fit, transitions, and playback.

Protected files need Microsoft credentials

If your presentation is stored in a protected Microsoft location (for example OneDrive or SharePoint), set up a Microsoft 365 connection first. See Configure Microsoft credentials.

Content fields​

  • Office File: paste the link to your PowerPoint presentation. This is the source used to display the content on screen.
  • Def. Media Duration: how long each slide is displayed, in seconds. This setting applies only to static media like images, not videos.
  • Def. Media Fit: defines how the content fits within the layer area.
    • Meet: scales the media to fit entirely within the layer without cropping, preserving its aspect ratio. This may leave empty space (letterboxing) if the aspect ratios differ.
    • Slice: scales the media to cover the entire layer without preserving the original aspect ratio. This may distort the image, but no empty space or cropping occurs.
    • Fill: scales the media to completely fill the layer while preserving its aspect ratio. Parts of the media may be cropped if the aspect ratio does not match the layer.
  • View mode: determines how the content is displayed on screen.
    • Automatic Slideshow: slides rotate automatically after the media duration.
    • Manual Carousel: content changes only when manually triggered.
      • Bgr. Color: background color in hex format (e.g. #FFFFFF).
      • Text Color: text color in hex format (e.g. #FFFFFF).
      • Order By: defines the sorting method for displayed items.
        • Random: items appear in a random order.
        • Name: sorts alphabetically by name.
        • Type: sorts by content type or category.
        • Creation date: sorts by the date each item was created, from oldest to newest.
  • Def. Transition Effect: the visual effect used when switching between items. Available options: fade, crossfade, slide, push, wipe, page, flip, cube, zoom, random, none.
  • Def. Transition Duration: duration of the transition effect, in seconds.

Accounting fields​

  • Enable accounting: registers Proof of Play data when opening and closing external media. The default value to insert (only for SpinetiX devices) is open,close.
  • Accounting Tag: an optional prefix added to log entries for identification purposes, especially useful when multiple advanced projects are published to the same device.

Shape & timing​

  • Shape tab: controls how the layer is positioned and sized within the canvas.
  • Timing tab: controls when the layer is shown during playback.
