πŸ–¨οΈ Totem Configuration

Totem Configuration is the settings page of a single totem server: its general settings, the operator page of each desk, the devices connected to it, and the services customers can choose. Every totem in the list has its own.

To open it, click the location name, or the βš™οΈ icon, in the totem list. If the totem does not exist yet, create it first as described in the Admin Guide.

Managed by Voome

Usually, the Totem Configuration is in charge of the Voome Support Team.

General settings

  • Server IP: the local IP address of the totem server. Update it if the device gets a new address.
  • Page Title: the title shown on the totem screen.
  • Enable Audio: plays a sound when a ticket is called.
  • Simple Mode: for locations without a ticket printer, where customers are simply called in order (for example, a bakery).
  • Location: the name of the location.
  • #Desk: the number of desks.
Operator page addresses

Under the #Desk input field, the page lists one address per desk. It is the page each operator opens to call the next ticket. The list updates as soon as you change Server IP or #Desk. The operator page is always served by the local totem server.

Connected devices

Connected devices lists the IP addresses of the other devices that work with this totem. Click Add Device to add one, or the bin icon to remove it.

It's required to register the Spinetix devices used as Ticketing summary. Other devices, such as LG webOS or Samsung Tizen, are automatically connected to the totem, so this operation is not required.

Services

Each service represents a button customers can choose on the totem.

  1. Click Add Service.
  2. Fill in:
    • Service name: the label on the totem button, saved in capital letters.
    • Service letter: a single letter that starts every ticket of this service, so tickets are easy to tell apart.
  3. Service identifier fills itself in from the letter and the first word of the name.

A totem can offer up to 10 services. To remove a service, click its bin icon.

The service identifier never changes

The identifier is created when you first save the service and stays the same even if you later rename it or change its letter. The reports group tickets by this identifier, so renaming a service keeps its history, while deleting it and creating a new one starts from zero.

Save your changes

Click Confirm to save. Voome updates the totem configuration and takes you back to the totem list. Close leaves the page without saving.

Advanced options

These options cover specific setups. Some are enabled only by the Voome team.

  • Desk names and services per desk: by default every desk can call every service. With Enable Advanced Configuration, each desk gets its own name (Desk 1, Desk 2, and so on, which you can change), and each service gets a Select desks can manage service list to choose which desks can call it. Only the Voome team can turn this on. Changing #Desk afterwards clears these choices, so set the number of desks first.
  • Service message: once advanced configuration is on, Add message on a service shows a text (up to 100 characters) on the totem when a customer chooses it. Print ticket to customer decides whether a ticket is also printed; if not, the message closes on its own after the number of seconds you set (10 to 300, 30 by default).
  • Custom fields and self check-in: the Voome Ticketing System can be integrated with external applications, like A4H. Add Custom Field and Enable Self-Checkin connect the totem to an external system. The self check-in process using a QR code requires the Dedalus Sede Operativa custom field.

To set up any of these, contact the Voome team.
